From December 17, 2024, citizens of 54 countries can apply for a 240-hour transit visa exemption at 60 designated airports of entry in Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, Shenyang, Dalian, Shanghai, Nanjing, Lianyungang, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Zhoushan, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jieyang, Qingdao, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Xiamen, Wuhan, Kunming, Lijiang, Xishuangbanna，etc. The exemption permits a stay of no more than 240 hours (10 days) without a visa.
